On December 17th 2002, Mr. Tarrin Nimmanahaeminda Member of Parliament, The House of Representatives, Former Minister of Finance, Thailand visited the Institute, delivered a speech entitled "Challenges of the Financial Sector Reform in Asia". In the speech he explained the financial sector reform including the management of non-performing loans in East Asia.

On November 28th, 2002, Mr. Peter Job, Former CEO, Reuters Ltd, visited the Institute, delivered a speech entitled "Media in the 21st Century". In the speech he mentioned a history of business of Reuters Ltd in Japan, and the strategies of financial market information media in 21st Century.

On November 7th 2002, Mr. Shin Nakahara, Member of Policy Board, Bank of Japan, visited the Institute, delivered a speech entitled "State of Japan's Economy and Policy Measures". In the speech he explained the BOJ's new policy measures, discussion in Policy Board and policy - making process.
Visit by Dr. Masahiro Kawai, Deputy Vice Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Japan
On July 26th 2002, Dr. Masahiro Kawai, Deputy Vice Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Japan, visited the institute, delivered a speech entitled "Regional Financial Cooperation in East Asia". In the speech, he explained the Japanese government initiative toward regional financial cooperation which includes strengthening regional surveillance and bilateral swap agreement (BSA), and future of regional currency regime.
Visit by Mr. Christian Noyer, Former Vice President, European Central Bank
On June 26th 2002, Mr. Christian Noyer, Former Vice President, European Central Bank, visited the institute, delivered a speech entitled "Prospect and implication of enlargement of the EU and of the Euro area". In the speech, he mentioned perspective of enlargement of the EU to the eastern Europe, and future expansion of Euro area and its implication on its exchange rates.
Visit by Mr. Gerald L. Curtis, Professor, Columbia University, and Visiting Professor, Japan's National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.
On January 25th 2002, Mr. Gerald L. Curtis, Professor, Columbia University, visited the institute, delivered a speech entitled "The Koizumi Government: A Mid-Term Assessment". In the speech, he evaluated that Koizumi administration made achievements in the field of foreign policy such as coping with the terrorist attack against U.S., but not similarly in economic policy and is expected to make more progress in the field.
